Character B: Hello, Isadora! I'm Carlos from Spain.

Isadora: Nice to meet you, Carlos. Do you come to this park often?

Carlos: Nice to meet you too, Isadora. Yes, I come here every weekend.

Isadora: That sounds nice. I love to walk here in the mornings.

Carlos: Me too! The park is so peaceful.

Isadora: Yes, it is. Do you live nearby?

Carlos: Yes, I do. I live just five minutes away.

Isadora: That's great! I also live near here. This park is very beautiful.

Carlos: Absolutely! The park is so amazing.

Isadora: I have to go now, Carlos. Nice meeting you.

Carlos: Nice meeting you too Isadora. See you around.

Iara: Thank you, Marcelo. It's been great so far. Everyone is so friendly.

Marcelo: That's good to hear. If you need any help, just ask.

Iara: I will, thanks! Where is the break room?

Marcelo: It's down the hall to the left. Let's go together.

Iara: Thank you very much.

Marcelo: You're welcome.

Nathany: I'm from Brazil. Nice to meet you.

Yuki: Nice to meet you too Nathany. What do you recommend here?

Nathany: The pasta is very good. I also like the pizza.

Yuki: Great, I love pasta. I'll try that.

Nathany: Good choice! Do you come here often?

Yuki: No, it's my first time. I just arrived here yesterday. What about you?

Nathany: I come here once a week. The food is always good and they also have Japanese food.

Yuki: Oh, good to hear that. maybe I will miss food from home. What are you doing here in Canada?

Nathany: Well, I study English in the morning and work in the afternoon. How about you?

Yuki: The same, Study and then make money to pay my tuition fee.

Character B: Hello, good morning. Have a seat. By the way, my name is Luis. I need some documents.

Andrea: My name is Andrea. What documents do you need?

Luis: Do you have your valid ID with you? And I also need a proof of address.

Andrea: I have them here. Here is my ID and my apartment contract for my proof of address.

Luis: Great. Please fill out this form. Please use black or blue ballpen only.

Andrea: Thank you. How long will it take to open the account?

Luis: It usually takes about 30 minutes.

Andrea: That's quick! Can I get my debit card today?

Luis: Yes, you can. We'll print it for you after the account is open.

Andrea: Thank you very much. Here is the form.

Luis: Let me check it first.

Luis: May I know the purpose of this account?

Andrea: I am from Portugal and this is my first bank account here in the US. I will be depositing my salary into this account.

Setting: Jessica is in Brazil while Lucas is in Spain. (calling through Whatsapp Videocall)


Jessica: Hi, Lucas! It's so good to see you. How's everything going in Spain?

Lucas: Hi, Jesica! It's great to see you too. Things are going well here. How about you in Brazil?

Jessica: I'm doing well, thanks! How is the weather there right now?

Lucas: It's sunny and warm here and, how about in there? How is the weather?

Jessica: As Usual, it's very warm here too. What time is it there now?

Lucas: It's 3 PM here. What about there?

Jessica: It's 10 AM here.

Lucas: It's been a long time since we last saw each other. How is life going on Jes? Your work, your family?

Jessica: Life is fair I must say, thank you for asking. Just busy with work because I got promoted last month, but I can't complain. My family is great. My parents are healthy. Thank God. And you?

Lucas: Same here. Work has been hectic, but everything else is fine. Any plans for the weekend?

Jessica: I might go to the beach. What about you?

Lucas: I’m planning to visit some friends. It’s been a while since I saw them too.

Jessica: That's good. I will also visit my family back in Sao Paulo.

Lucas: Oh that's great. I really miss my family in Brazil.

Jessica: When are you going to visit them?

Lucas: Next year on my mom's birthday, but it's a surprise, so please don't mention it to them.

Jessica: Oh you can trust me. I should get going now, Lucas. I still have to go back to work. Break time is over.

Lucas: Okay, Bye Jes. See you next year!
